Venezuelan cellist Horacio Contreras and Colombian pianist Cesar Cañón join forces to perform a program of rarely heard works by Latin American composers that will span almost 100 years, from classics like Heitor Villa-Lobos' Second Sonata for cello and piano to Carolina Heredia's Añoranzas for cello and electronics. The concert will also feature works by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, Venezuelan composer Paul Desenne, and Ricardo Lorenz, a member of MSU's composition faculty.

Ms. Heredia will be giving a 2:30 lecture on her music.
